Chiropractic Care for Infants, Toddlers, Teenagers and Beyond....

"Is Chiropractic Care Safe For My Baby?"

This is a common question that many parents ask.

The answer is YES!

Chiropractic care is safe, gentle and effective for anyone at any age. That includes babies.

Little ones do not have the muscle imbalance that adults do so the adjustment doesn't require a lot of force. The amount of force used to adjust a newborn is no more pressure that you would use test the ripeness of a plum.

Some chiropractors are receiving special training beyond their DC degree to help detect and correct subluxations  in babies. If left uncorrected, subluxations can lead to learning disabilities, headaches, visual and hearing problems, certain palsies and immune function problems such as asthma and allergies.

Toddlers can develop subluxations from falls off of changing tables, off of beds and couches. They are constantly falling down while learning to walk or while playing at the playground. Teenagers can develop headaches while going through hormonal changes and any child that is involved in sports should be checked for subluxations on a regular basis. Growing pains and scoliosis patterns can be detected and treated if caught soon enough.

Babies should be checked for subluxations right after birth. Babies also need to be checked when starting each physical milestone including:

  • Holding the head up
  • Rolling over
  • Sitting up
  • Crawling
  • Standing
  • Walking

Spinal check-ups are important if you baby develops any of the following symptoms:

  • Colic
  • Reflux
  • Torticollis
  • Developmental delays
  • Sleeplessness
  • Cold/Fever/Flu
  • Constipation and/or diarrhea
  • Feeding issues and/or spitting up
  • Ear infections
  • Teething problems

Chiropractic Care after an auto accident is essential for everyone that was involved in the accident. This includes children! Don't forget to have your baby checked for spinal trauma!
